Sydney builder Blake Cottle, of FDC Construction, and wife Justine bought veteran broadcaster Alan Jones’s Fitzroy Falls property for a record $12,800,005, according to the settlement paperwork.
The Southern Highlands farm had hit the market early last year with $17.5m hopes. It was relisted in October with a $15m-$16m price guide.
The farm was offered on a walk-in, walkout basis, so may have involved some of the animals.

The contents auction saw prices up to $60,000 for the redundant 2006 Bentley Continental Flying Spur.
Known as Elizabeth Farm and Charlieville in honour of his parents, the Nowra Rd estate was bought for $2.6m two decades ago.
It was initially built by John Darling Sr in 1981.
The extended Cottle family was last in the news when they bought Wollumbi, the Highlands farm, from fashion legend Peter Weiss and his widow, Doris, at Marulan.
